Sword in the Stone-Aedan

Here is the future King Arthur.  I want to do a series on The Sword in the Stone, and this is a drawing of a scene I'm going to illustrate later.  I'll post again soon.

Two unrelated pictures-Aedan

Here's a dragon.  He has his hands behind his back as if he was going on a leisurely stroll through his garden, but his maniacal grin makes me think differently.
And here is a beautiful skull.... enjoy!

Thursday, December 8, 2011

Here is a watercolor of a barn owl that I did a while ago.  Right after I did it I watched the movie "The Guardians of Ga'Hool." I should have added some cool armor and a sword or something.

I am glad to announce that I am back.  And am glad to announce that I shall be posting regularly.  Here is a collection of pictures that I have done over the past week or so... enjoy!

Fly away-Aedan

I am leaving for Thanksgiving so don't expect any posts for the next week...  I don't know where this dragon is going for Thanksgiving; I'm not inviting him to my Thanksgiving dinner.

Portrait of a Dragon-Aedan

He landed in my front yard and asked (threatened with smoking nostrils) that I draw his dashing features.  So, instead of arguing with a fire-breathing dragon, I drew him.  He then flew off with a copy of his dashing features between his claws.

My family goes to the pumpkin patch every year.  This year, while we were walking around, there was a gigantic tree with huge roots; it was awesome.  So, we took a picture of it and I drew it.

Abominable Snowman-Aedan

I did these tonight.  I just got Justin Gerards new sketch book and was inspired.  If you want to buy it, click here.

In my art class at school, I've been learning how to do shadows better. This is just some guy charging into battle.

Old Eagle-Aedan

I've been trying to improve my pencil techniques.  This is pencil on velum.  I think he's scolding a young chick.

Bat wolf-Aedan

I drew this just for fun.  Really I just thought the idea of a bat wolf was cool.  AAAAAHHHHH! Attack of the flying, evil, vampire, bat, wolf, things!

If you can't tell, this is a sketch of a cool ninja about to beat up a random bad guy.

Glorble Spiffet-Aedan (and Jesse)

This is a picture that I co-created with my brother Jesse.  It is weird.  It's a half monkey monster that is blind and eats with its hands (and its mouth).  It lives in trees and likes to eat leaves.  Plus it has tentacles.

This is its mother... her name is Sunshine.  She likes to eat clouds and katydids.
Information on these creatures was given to me by Jesse Peterson; expert on weird creatures.

Albertus QuinnQuil-Aedan

His name is Albertus QuinnQuil.  Right now he is looking (glaring) at a poor unfortunate boy staring at his frightening features and huge hands.  Oh!  Those terrible hands.  Al' is feeling a bit hurt at this.  He thinks: "it's not my fault I was born with such big hands!  What do you expect... I'm 1,200 years old!"

A random sketch.  I think I would like this guy to be on my team.  I think he is a good guy.

Something is wrong here... I just can't put my finger on it.

This is a dwarf contemplating the worlds problems... not some thing you see every day. (Well, maybe).

So, Bill Watterson, the creator of the cartoon "Calvin and Hobbes."  Let me just say he is one of my favorite artists ever.  E-ver!  He can paint the most magical scenes.  I studied this one recently, trying to imitate his techniques of water color and pen and ink.  I am truly amazed by his work.  (If you haven't read any of his stuff it's essential that you do it now, get a treasury or something.)

This was a tricky piece.  Halfway through it, I almost gave up.  But I made one last effort to save it, and here it is.  I'm pretty sure the boy is going to win.

King Vulture-Aedan

This is a random study of an ugly bird called a king vulture.  I got the reference photo from the back of a Ranger Rick magazine.  I don't like how his eye turned out.

Here is the beginning stage of a piece I am doing.  It is ink over pencil.  I will apply the water color soon.

Some sketches-Aedan

I love getting new sketch pads.  The feeling of all the blank pages, ready for the pencil to create.  Anyway, I say this because I drew these in a new sketch pad.

It is my thirteenth birthday today.  Which, as you probably know,  is exciting (for me at least).  I have had a wonderful birthday so far.  This is the last picture I drew before I was a teenager.  Thanks!

Bilbo and the Eagles-Cooper

Here, is when the eagle in The Hobbit, saves Bilbo from the burning tree surrounded by goblins. I know that Bilbo was carried by the eagles talons, but I put Bilbo in between the wings.

I really liked how this turned out. I worked on this eagle as practice for the next post.

Supper's Ready-Cooper

Here's something random, I'm not sure if I'll finish it or not.

These are my versions of Ents, enjoy.

Big ol' beard-Aedan

I tried a new technique on this picture.  This old man's brain is scattered because he can't find his soup   ( I don't know!).

Final Digital-Aedan

Here's the digital of that lion I did earlier.  I think it turned out good.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Okay!  If you remember a couple of posts back I posted a piece from Beauty and the Beast.  I am trying to figure out whether or not to do a watercolor of it or leave it be.  I may very well mess it up. Thoughts?

Another Dwarf-Cooper

In his hands, he is holding two boiled eggs. It is completely random, but I was hungry.

Picture Day-Cooper

I recently had picture day at my school, so I thought of this.

Creepy Guy-Cooper

Saturday, October 8, 2011

Here is a bear trying to scare a butterfly.

Goblin Warrior-Cooper

Here is an angry goblin warrior.
