I haven't really attempted to do sculptures.  I've messed around with clay and stuff but nothing I really liked.  This man is actually made out of air dry clay, but I didn't mold him while it was still wet.  A friend had some air dry clay that had accidentally dried out.  I just used some her tools and chiseled it.  His head is misshapen since I had no real plan in mind.  But I enjoyed doing it and I want to do more.

John Carter-Aedan

As you've probably gleaned from the title, this post is on John Carter.  My dad, my brother, a friend, and I went to see it yesterday.  And I must say, I liked it.  It was a mix between Star Wars and Indiana Jones... And that's a good mix.  Lot's of people didn't like it at all, and I don't really see why.  It's directed by Andrew Stanton, who, as you might know, is the director of some of the best Pixar movies, the actors weren't bad, the special effects were cool, and it is based on a old sci-fi book written buy the guy who wrote Tarzan.  Why wouldn't you like that?!  Anyway, that's just my opinion... ok now I'll show some art of really cool aliens.  This is Soma, who is a Thark, which is the alien race on Mars... Isn't that the nerdiest thing a person could say? Here is the rough:
The Rough
The Beginning Inked
The Final Inked
It's not totally accurate since I don't have anything to look at yet, but here you go.

Here's an acrylic I recently did.  It's the first attempt at acrylic that I actually like.  I got the model from a bird magazine.

Here are two quick studies, an ape and an elephant.  The Orangutang is just pencil on bristol, and the Elephant is digital.

Last night my whole family and I went to see The Secret World of Arietty.  It is made by the guy (I don't remember his name right now) who did Ponyo, My friend Totoro, and several others.  I love all his films.  The animation, the weirdness, the characters, all of it is amazing.  I'm not saying that it's so amazing that you HAVE to go see.  It's just a nice pleasant G movie.  Anyways this guy is Spiller, he's one of my favorite characters in this movie.

If you have followed this blog for a while, you know that this is not your usual post.  A normal post will have dragons, trolls, swords, cool flying birds etc.  This post is real LIFE!  I don't know if this is going to be the norm or not, I am not an amazing photographer.  So here it is:
Here's a mocking bird that came to my feeder (I have a lot of bird pictures.)
Here is a kestrel that I was acquainted with.
 Here is Molly, my cat.
A random cardinal in a cool pose.

My dog, his name is Moondog.

I was really lucky to get a shot of this Bard owl.
And my grumpy cat: Magnum P.I., because of his mustache.

And there you have it.  It's just me messing around with an $800 camera my dad bought.  I think it's okay for me to post photography, because it's a kind of art, and it takes skill, and I have a WHOLE LOT OF THAT DON'T I?! Let me know if you want me to post more.  Toodle-doo!

Hi everybody!  I'm sorry that I haven't posted in about two weeks. Maybe I can get you to have mercy on me if I list the reasons why:  it's been crazy in our house hold, I've had a drawing block, homework, my uncle borrowed my camera so I couldn't take pictures of my drawings, more home work, I spent the night at a friends house, when I got the camera back it wasn't working, and I smash my fingers hard enough in a door so I couldn't draw.  How's that for a list?!  These are just two random pictures, both of which show a child in a suspicious predicament.
