Life of Pi

Life of Pi is a beautiful movie.  Its visuals, its story, and its wonderful actors made me light up.  As soon as I saw it, I wanted to go home and draw beautiful, dangerous, weird, amazing creatures that inhabit this planet.  So I did, and here's what I came up with.
I wanted to capture the magic of the movie and the book, so I thought I'd depict the battle of the wills of the creatures.  I hope I did.
I really like how the final digital turned out.  I usually mess up with this kind of stuff, but this time, it turned out how I imagined.  I'm so happy!  Merry late-Christmas everybody!

The Hobbit

I saw The Hobbit on Tuesday.  And I have to say... I really liked it!

I didn't have high hopes, of course, due to the reviews, but when I walked out of the theater I was so happy.  It was three hours long, but I think I stayed awake because of the awesome characters and the humor. The Lord of the Rings was more of a denser, darker book, but The Hobbit... well it's more of a fairy tale.  I think Peter Jackson captured that really well.  It was funny and cartoonish, which I had hoped for this movie.  That is the only reason it really worked for me.  I also thought the orcs looked a lot better in this as well.

I have one more thing to say.  "Gandalf!  Boooooooooom!"

Orc, Dwarf, and Troll.  I really liked the trolls in the movie.
Goblin king, warg.
Ol' Smaug.
Warg.
Goblin.

Arthur Part. II

So here it is.  The final digital.  It's not quite perfect to me yet, but it still turned out better than other digital stuff I've done.  Aha!

And Arthur beheld his Foe.

I am pretty happy with this piece.  I have lately been working on my watercolor skills and this one turned out nice.  The composition isn't great and I didn't really do any studies of the guy so it's not perfect.  It's a work in progress though.  I'm also experimenting with digital stuff too.  I'll post the digital soon.
